When to choose KeraSoft® IC vs KeraSoft®3

KeraSoft®3, in SiH only, has been available since December 2007 and is designed to be used for regular types of Keratoconus with central cones.

KeraSoft® IC is the latest generation design, enabling the practitioner to fit all irregular corneas, including keratoconus. The KeraSoft® IC lens has an advanced peripheral design enabling the optics of the lens to be fitted accurately and consistently in the correct position in the optical path of the eye, ensuring good vision at all times. These benefits, combined with the comfort of the soft lens (available in either the SiH or the High Water Content Hydrogel) means that the lens is suitable for all irregular corneas, providing a healthy solution and clear vision for all day wear.

If a patient is very happy with their KeraSoft®3 lens, we recommend they continue using KeraSoft®3.

We recommend you fit KeraSoft® IC when;

• The patient is new to KeraSoft®
• The patient has a complex keratoconic cornea
• The patient is having difficulties with the fit or vision in their KeraSoft®3 lens
